Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong emphasized: The OCOP program has the goal of focusing resources to support improving production efficiency in rural areas through the development of agricultural products and solving weak stages in agricultural production, namely market organization and processing, are identified as one of the important solutions to restructure industry and build new rural areas. He also praised the results achieved by Quang Ninh in the OCOP program over the past 3 years, and affirmed that Quang Ninh's experiences are of great value in implementing the OCOP program nationwide.

Sharing Quang Ninh's experiences in implementing the OCOP program, Mr. Dang Huy Hau - Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee shared: The implementation of the OCOP program in the period 2013-2016. He emphasized: In 2013, Quang Ninh was the pioneer province to implement the OCOP program with the goal of developing organizations that produce and trade products with local advantages; Effectively implement the group of criteria "Economy and form of production organization"; increase income for people.

 Implementing the OCOP program, in the period 2013-2016, from the province to the localities proactively established the OCOP Executive Board, implemented production development projects, organized product evaluation and classification contests; Organize competitions to design logos and product packaging; planning and investing in building a system of OCOP centers and sales points in the province; Registered protection for 28 OCOP products of the province... After 3 years, Quang Ninh has developed 210 products with the participation of 180 production economic organizations. All are valuable, commodity products that are well received by the market. The program has affirmed a unique feature of Quang Ninh, which is the right direction to contribute to restructuring the agricultural sector, improving production value and building new rural areas in the period 2011 - 2015. Results in Implementing the OCOP Program in Quang Ninh has been evaluated by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development as a very correct way to do it, and is encouraged by the Government to replicate nationwide.

 Comrade Dang Huy Hau, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: During the 2017-2020 period, the OCOP Program will continue to improve the quality of OCOP products, turning OCOP products into branded goods, including There are products with national brands. Specifically: The whole province strives to reach 250 OCOP registered products (including completing 130 existing products, developing 120 new products), including 12 provincial-level products; bringing 6 provincial-level products to qualify to participate in the national product chain. Each locality selects at least 2 products (striving for 31 products) to create a concentrated production area and build and enhance the brand.

This conference on solutions to promote trade promotion of OCOP national program products is the first time the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with Quang Ninh to organize and integrate the fair on a national scale. The workshop aimed to reassess the work of developing the OCOP National Program Project, and at the same time exchange trade promotion solutions, problems with implementation mechanisms and methods in localities.
